When prescribed by a doctor, short-term skilled home health services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, veterans’ benefits, long-term care insurance, and most health insurance policies.
Covered Services
If you qualify for the home health benefit, Medicare will cover the following types of care:
- Skilled home health nursing services
- Injections (and teaching patients to self-inject) tube feedings, catheter changes, observation and assessment of a patient’s condition, management and evaluation of a patient’s care plan, and wound care
- Home health aide if you require skilled services
- Social Services to help you with social and emotional concerns related to your illness
- Supplies such as wound dressing materials and catheters
- Skilled Therapy services including physical, speech and occupational therapy services

CHP Home Care & Hospice offers a complete range of therapy services at home to speed recovery from illness, injury or surgery. Our therapy partners develop specific home rehabilitation programs and provide treatment and instruction with a focus on returning to independence.
Therapy services require a physician’s order and may be applicable for situations such as: Loss of balance, falls, following hip or knee replacement, stroke recovery, or any noticeable decline in function.
